Thatch Mound

Welcome to Thatch Mound

Thatch Mound was formed in January 2008, and is the parent organization to a number of Internet projects. The name "Thatch Mound" comes from the type of anthill built by a variety of ants known as "thatching ants," such as formica obscuripes, a red-headed ant which is common in Washington State. The concept of Thatch Mound is to build a successful company by combining moderate income streams from lots of little projects into a source of income large enough to replace my former full-time job, in the same way that many ants come together to build something much greater than themselves—the thatch mound.

You will find the list of Thatch Mound projects on the right side of this page, with links to projects that are currently live. You may also be interested in the Thatch Mound Blog, where you can find the latest news about what's going on behind the scenes, and the Thatch Mound Forum, where you can ask questions and participate in an open discussion about self-employment and small business.

Thatch Mound is a registered business in the State of Washington.
