Real Estate Photography Business Names

As a way of expanding our business horizons, Jeni is planning to get into real estate photography, and possibly expanding into interior design services down the road. We’re trying to come up with a good name for such a business.

We’d appreciate your opinions on these following names. Please vote for which one you like best. If you think you have a better one, we welcome your suggestions!

Here’s our criteria for a name: it needs to be creative, short & memorable; with no specific references to real estate or photography. Although, it does need to sound nice with the words photography and design (for example, having something like “Photo” “Design” or “Studios” appended to the name).

Which name is best?

  1. I would go with a name that reflects what you want to do. While some names may seem to be catchy in that they work well with a certain crowd or age group, as a real estate photographer you want the name to convey a message right off the bat when people see it on a web site or on a business card. “Vibrancy” conveys to me a wedding photographer, “Apricot” a landscape or florist photographer, “Vibrant Eye,” I am not sure… perhaps a peeping Tom? And, well, “Death Robot” may be kind of funny, of course it does not convey anything except run like heck! Have you thought of something like “Land Camera Designs,” or “House and Home Graphics,” “Home and Garden Photography,” or “Where the Sidewalk Ends Photographers.” You will be catering to all ages and incomes.

Just my own silly notions, for what it is worth.

  2. While I still vote for “Apricot”, I’m liking “Where the Sidewalk Ends”. However, you might run up against some copyright issues if you wanted to use that name.

  3. I really like the sound of “Death Robot Studio”, but I know you were kidding, so my next choice was “Vibrant Eye”. Apricot sounds like a organic food store, and “Vibrancy” sounds to generic to me. “Where The Sidewalk Ends” is cute, but taken. You could play with it and go with “Beyond the Sidewalk’s End”. LOL

  4. Given the choices, I’d pick Vibrant Eye, put it doesn’t peak my interest. How about something like Digital Crayon?

  5. Aw, I have to laugh at my family! I love you all so much, and you are all so different! You could combine all of them, Death to the Vibrant Apricot Robot etc. How about “Through My Eyes” or “From my eyes to Yours” or ………man, it’s harder than naming a rock band! 7. It may sound boring but I would seriouly consider sticking with doing what most pro specialist photographers do and building a following to Jeni’s name. Unless she’s running a group of photographers, a company name is going to make is difficult for her to build a professional reputation and may actually discourage use by companies who want to use a pro and feel a company may send an inexperienced rookie to do their work. This is one of the main reasons people hire photographers by name.

    Just food for thought :-)
